It was sissy’s 5th birthday last week! We threw a Hello Kitty party for her. Here are a few pictures from her party.
I used Adobe Illustrator for all of the Hello Kitty graphics I purchased from Etsy. If you want to have personalized party printables, Adobe Illustrator is the tool to use. It is actually very easy to use and there is a tutorial you can access online when you need help.
I used my cream cheese buttercream recipe I posted last week for the icing and marshmallow fondant for the cake. For the cake pops, I used white chocolate chips I colored and my handy cake pop maker for the cake balls (I made their vanilla cake pop recipe and it was delicious). I used Wilton Candy melts for the candy covered Oreos. I like using the candy melts because they harden nicely and come out perfect. For the Hello Kitty cookies, I cheated this time and used Wilton’s cookie icing for the first time. It was actually very good. I hand cut out the bows in fondant and used a new product I found called Wilton Candy writers to outline the bows and do the whiskers. These candy writers were a life saver and I will use them again! And of course, everything got a nice dusting with luster dust to make it all shimmer! I will post my famous sugar cookie recipe tomorrow on my blog for everyone to try. It is amazing and easy to make!
