Chocolate Spritz Cookies

I’ve tried a hand full of spritz cookie recipes but, in my opinion, Wilton Chocolate Spritz Cookie Recipe is the best!  Here’s the recipe from their website.

1 teaspoon Madagascar Pure Vanilla Extract

1 1/4 cups butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2/3 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 1/2 cups flour

2/3 cup cocoa

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars at medium-high speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture gradually and beat well. Shape dough into small log and place in cookie press. Press cookie onto cool ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes. Remove from sheet and cool. Store in airtight container at cool room temperature for several weeks or freeze for two months.

These cookies are delicious! It’s like eating a brownie cookie! I use the cookie press with the tree attachment and add sprinkles to the tops of the cookies for Christmas. Make sure you sprinkle them on before you bake the cookies.

I always cook my cookies for 7-8 minutes as opposed to 10-12 they recommend.

Hope you enjoy these cookies as much as we do!
