Sissy’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s baking time!!!! ❤️ If there is one thing in this world Sissy loves, it is cookies! 🍪 One of our friends has been sending over homemade chocolate chip cookies for us for a while now. They are delicious and the family loves them. But, I figured it was time to make my own homemade chocolate chip cookies. So, here is my version of milk chocolate chip cookies. This is my first time making chocolate chip cookies from scratch and I have to say the recipe is easy and delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 stick Salted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 8 oz Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate Baking Chips

Directions:

Sift together flour and baking soda and set aside. In a standing electric mixer with paddle attachment, cream the butter for two minutes on high. Scrape down the sides and add brown sugar, sugar and salt and mix on medium. Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix again until it is smooth and lump free. Add the egg and vanilla and mix on low for 15 seconds. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add the flour mixture and mix on low until the flour is incorporated. Add the chips and mix in on low speed until chips are incorporated.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and spoon slightly heaping tablespoons of dough 2 inches apart onto the parchment paper. Bake on rack in center of the oven one pan at a time for 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and slide the parchment paper onto baking racks to cool for 20 minutes.

This recipe makes 2 dozen delicious cookies for the family to enjoy!

XO,

Stacey
