Appetizer #3: Salsa

There is nothing better than homemade salsa. Once you have homemade, you’ll never buy it in a jar again. A good friend of my Hubby’s makes salsa for him every year. But he only makes it when his home grown tomatoes are readily available. So, I had to learn how to make salsa to keep the Hubby happy in the off season. I found this recipe among my Mom’s many recipe cards. It’s an easy appetizer and a crowd pleaser at birthday parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Red Onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Canned Green Chilies
  • 2 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro, chopped
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, peeled
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Directions:

Pulse all the ingredients in a food processor until combined but chunky. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

Enjoy!

XO,

Stacey
