Taco Seasoning

Some time ago, I was preparing to make tacos when I realized I didn’t have taco seasoning. I went to the computer and Googled homemade taco seasoning. I found a great recipe for the seasoning on All Recipes. I don’t know why I never looked for a recipe for taco seasoning before because I have every spice you can imagine. Much to my surprise, this taco seasoning is so much better than the packets you buy at the grocery.

  • 1 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 1 lb Ground Beef, Pork or Turkey
  • 2/3 cups Water

In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients. On medium heat brown the ground meat in a large skillet and add the seasoning. Stir to mix thoroughly and add 2/3 cup of water. Allow it to cook until the moisture is depleted. Serve as a taco salad or on soft or hard shell tacos. I dice tomatoes, shred lettuce and cheddar cheese and top it off with hot sauce and sour cream. It is delicious!

Let me know what you think!
