Grilled Tuna Steaks

Grilling fish can be a difficult task! It sticks, falls through the grate, or sticks to the fish basket so bad you end up with a mess! Tuna is a dense fish with little to no fat making it easier to grill. Now I know some of you may eat your fish medium or almost raw. If you’re brave enough to eat it undercooked, by all means do so. But I caution you to cook it to 145 degrees for food safety reasons. This is an easy recipe and the results are delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tuna Steaks (4-6 ounces each)
  • 1/3 cup Orange Juice
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon peel, grated
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Directions:

In a glass bowl, mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, lemon juice and peel, olive oil, garlic and pepper. Add the tuna steak and turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes. Spray the grill grate lightly with grill safe non stick spray. Set the heat to high. Grill the tuna steaks for 5 minutes, turn and apply some of the marinade. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. Discard any leftover marinade.
